Mission Statement
The purpose of the Booster Club shall be the promotion and encouragement of the Hillgrove Orchestra Department and to cooperate with the director in every way possible for the development of the character and talents of the Hillgrove Orchestra students.
The HOBC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All contributions to the HOBC are tax-decuctable.
Booster Club Goals
1. To aid and support the students and director in meeting the musical goals and financial needs of the orchestra.
2. To raise funds above and beyond that which is provided by the school district, in order to provide educational, competitive and social opportunities, which enhance the orchestra experience.
3. To increase parental support and involvement in all phases of the orchestra program and facilitate an awareness in the parents of their need to be involved.
4. To encourage enthusiastic public interest and support in the performances, needs and activities of the orchestra.
5. To serve as a means of communication to keep parents of orchestra students informed of activities and projects of the orchestra.
Membership
The membership of the Booster Club shall consist of the parents or guardians of students in the Hillgrove High School Orchestra Department and any other persons interested in the promotion of orchestra music, and who have paid their dues.
Annual Orchestra dues are: $55 per student
Some costs covered by HOBC funds include:
Annual membership dues to professional affiliations such as the Georgia Music Educators Association, the American String Teachers Association, and the Music Educators National Conference
Administrative costs such as Bank and post office fees, orchestra letterhead, CHARMS, etc.
Awards, Trophies, Plaques and Orchestra letters
Fees for Guest Clinicians and Conductors
Field Trips and Transportation costs
Festival application fees
Fees for professional recordings
The Booster Club works throughout the year to help meet the additional financial needs of the orchestra through fundraising. We welcome all suggestions and ideas for fundraising from Booster Club members. All fundraisers however, must be approved by the school principal. We strongly encourage all students to participate in every fundraising opportunity.
Volunteers
The Booster Club needs volunteers in order to provide the support to our students & director to make the Orchestras successful, as a result we need all parents to sign up for at least two (2) events.
