About our Student Executive Board
The Hillgrove Orchestra Booster Club (HOBC) Student Executive Board is a peer-elected body of student leaders who represent and advocate for the interests of their specific orchestras to the Director of Orchestras and the HOBC. Board members are tasked with representing their peers' interests, planning and organizing Hillgrove orchestra events, and collaborating with the Director of Orchestras to foster a positive, inviting, and inspiring orchestral experience for all.

Student Executive Board Officer Positions
President
The President serves as the leader of the student executive board and acts as a liaison between students in all three orchestras, the director, and the booster club, while also fostering a positive and productive environment within the orchestra.
Vice-President
The Vice-President assists the President in fulfilling their duties and provides leadership and support to all orchestra members. The VP also assumes the President’s responsibilities in their absence.
Secretary
The Secretary supports the effective functioning and preservation of institutional knowledge within the Board. The Secretary is responsible for recording and maintaining accurate records of Board meetings and events, as well as providing administrative support to the Board.
Members-At-Large
There are two Members-at-Large on the Student Executive Board. Members-at-Large serves as representatives for the orchestras not represented by the President. These individuals act as liasions between their representative orchestras and the Student Executive Board. Members-at-Large also provide administrative support to the Board as needed.

President
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Motivation:
Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dedication to the orchestra.
Promote a sense of community and belonging within the orchestra.
Organization, Communication, and Representation:
Assist in the planning and implementation of social events, fundraisers, concerts, and other orchestra-related events.
Organize and facilitate meetings with other members of the executive committee (vice president, secretary, and two members-at-large)
Represent the orchestras at booster club meetings and events.
Communicate effectively with orchestra students and the orchestra director.
Collect and disseminate important information to orchestra members.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Assist with other duties as assigned by the orchestra director in support of the orchestra.
Qualifications:
Current member of the Hillgrove Orchestras in good standing for at least four semesters.
Rank of junior or senior during the term of service.
Maintain excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Commitment to the success of the orchestra.

Vice-President
Key Responsibilities:
Organization, Communication, and Representation:

Oversee a specific area of responsibility within the orchestra (e.g., fundraising or social events).
Assume the President’s responsibilities in their absence at executive board meetings, booster club meetings, and other events.
Communicate effectively with the executive board members and the orchestra director.
Assist in the communication and dissemination of important information to orchestra members as needed.
Photograph events that occur during the academic year.
Leadership and Support:
Motivate and inspire fellow orchestra members to achieve their best.
Foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere within the ensemble.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Assist with other duties as assigned by the orchestra director in support of the orchestra.

Secretary
Key Responsibilities:
Record Keeping and Support:
Attend all Board meetings and accurately record minutes, including:
Date, time, and location of the meeting
Attendance of Board members
Decisions and actions taken
Any other relevant information
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files; manage storage and distribution of files and minutes to Board members.
Maintain contact information for Board members and other relevant stakeholders.
Assist in preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and other relevant materials.
Assist in the coordination of Board meetings, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and logistics.
Provide administrative support to the Executive Board as needed.
Photograph events that occur during the academic year.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with other Board members and the orchestra director.
Ensure timely and accurate communication regarding Board meetings, decisions, and actions.
Qualifications:
Current member of the Hillgrove Orchestras in good standing.
Rank of freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior during the term of service.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in word processing software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Member-At-Large
Key Responsibilities:
Active Participation:
Attend all Board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes.
Contribute ideas and perspectives to the Board’s deliberations.
Support the initiatives and goals of the Student Executive Board.
Specific Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and implementation of Hillgrove Orchestras Student Executive Board events and activities.
Serve as a liaison between the Student Executive Board, the Booster Club, and the member’s respective orchestra.
Assist with initiatives to support the organization’s goals.
Provide administrative support to the Executive Board as needed.
Photograph events that occur during the academic year.
Qualifications:
Current member of the Hillgrove Orchestras in good standing.
Rank of freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior during the term of service.
Strong commitment to the mission and goals of [Organization Name].
